My name is Zack Lightfoot and I’m a photographer/videographer in Huntsville AL. I have a daughter who is 22 months old and my wife is pregnant with our second.
Before working with Copper State FIT, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I knew it would come one day due to it running in my family but I knew I was way too young to start taking pills everyday.
When the doctor told me I had to make changes all I could think about was my daughter. I knew I had to change to be there for her as well as set a better example for her.
I hadn’t really tried anything on my own; everyone told me that I needed to start eating better but no one ever showed me how. I wasn’t sure where to begin. That’s when I reached out to Copper State FIT.
With Copper State FIT, my coach helped my improve my habits one by one.
First, we set my daily water goal to keep me well hydrated. We then worked on the proper calorie intake to for me to lose weight while maintaining my energy levels.
Next we added a daily fruit and veggie goal so that I was getting enough micronutrients and fiber.
Lastly, we added a protein goal to make sure I was losing fat and not muscle as the inches and weight fell off.
All the while, I learned why these things were important. I learned to meal prep healthy meals and I learned that eating healthy is not disgusting and is actually easier than it seems.
A month after my first diagnoses, I went to the doctor for a follow-up. I had already lost 15lbs and for the first time in years the doctor didn’t look at my BP and say “We should keep an eye on that.” He was blown away at my progress and asked a lot of questions about how I did it! I just kept telling him Copper State FIT.
Now, my blood pressure continues to be at a normal levels and I’m still losing weight. I am down 30lbs down, 23 to go before I reach my goal! I have so much more energy now and when my wife says she wants to take our daughter to the park or on a walk I’m excited to go and not to tired from work.
Without the help of the coaches at Copper State FIT, I’d still be lost trying to figure it out on my own with no clue where to start.
My coach’s knowledge and ‘teacher’s mindset’ made things easy to grasp and helped me understand not just WHAT to do, but WHY and most importantly, I learned HOW!
If you’re thinking of hiring Copper State FIT… Do it! If you lose a lot of weight and you realize you prefer being fat and miserable you can always put the weight back on. LOL!
