Garmin Integration

How to connect your Garmin to the Copper State FIT app?

The Garmin integration to the CSF app requires you to have a Garmin account. The authentication uses the login credentials of your Garmin account to authorize the connection to Copper State FIT.

Information from your Garmin account including activities, daily caloric burn, steps, sleep, resting heart rate, body, weight, and body fat percentage will be synced to the CSF app.

1. On the mobile app, navigate to the More tab at the bottom right, select Garmin and then tap Connect to log in to their Garmin account.

2. Be sure to allow Activities and Daily Health Stats, then select the Agree button to move forward with the connection.

3. Once the connection has been made, it might take a few minutes for the Garmin data to start syncing to the CSF app. You will see a Syncing in background message similar to the screenshot below.

Keep in mind, that the initial sync will be bringing in 2 weeks of information and might take longer. Once it is completed, syncs should appear in the app within a few minutes.

Once the sync is complete, the information will be displayed in a few locations within the account:

  • Your Calendar
  • Your Dashboard
  • Progress Tiles on your Dashboard (Steps, Sleep, Body Weight, Body Fat, Resting Heart Rate, Caloric Burn)
  • Progress graphs (Steps, Sleep, Body Weight, Body Fat, Resting Heart Rate, Caloric Burn)

What syncs over from the Garmin Integration?

When your Garmin account is connected to the CSF app, any time you record a certain measurement or activity on your Garmin smartwatch or Garmin Connect App, the following data will sync directly into your CSF account.

The list below shows what the data is called in the Garmin Connect app on the left and what it shows up as in the CSF app on the right.

  • Sleep → Sleep
  • Activities → Cardio Activities
  • Weight → Body Weight
  • Calories → Caloric Burn
  • Steps → Steps
  • Heart Rate → Resting Heart Rate
  • Body Fat → Body Fat

This new data is instantly visible on your CSF app dashboard in the relevant sections.

The Garmin integration also permits cardio activities performed to be synced over to the mobile app. These include both performance-based activities and time-based activities.

For example, if you sync over the cardio activity of running from the Garmin watch to the CSF app, it will sync the duration, distance, average speed (calculated by CSF app), average pace (calculated by CSF app), maximum speed, active calories, maximum heart rate, and average heart rate.

💡 Note: In the CSF app, these activities may be edited, moved, or deleted. If an activity is deleted on the Garmin side, that WILL NOT have an impact on the imported activities in the CSF app. Garmin does not support editing of body-stats on their end.
