Excuses vs. Constraints: Is your mindset holding you back?

When it comes to nutrition and eating healthy, it’s easy to make excuses for why we can’t stick to our goals. “I don’t have time to cook,” “healthy food is too expensive,” “I just can’t resist junk food,” and so on.

But what if we reframed those excuses as constraints?

Excuses are roadblocks that we accept. Meanwhile, constraints are limitations that we have to work around, but they don’t have to stop us from making progress. Here are a few examples:

Excuse: “I don’t have time to cook healthy meals.”
Constraint: “I have a busy schedule, but I can meal-prep on the weekends or cook quick and easy meals during the week.”
Excuse: “Healthy food is too expensive.”
Constraint: “I have a tight budget, but I can buy frozen veggies, shop sales, and buy in bulk to save money.”
Excuse: “I just can’t resist junk food.”
Constraint: “I have a strong craving for junk food, but I can find healthier alternatives.”

By reframing our excuses as constraints, we can find creative solutions to overcome them and make progress towards our nutrition and healthy eating goals.

Don’t let excuses hold you back – find your constraints and work around them! 🥦🥑🍅🥕
