I am 58 years old and a parent of three adult children. Recently, I transitioned from a nursing role to a managerial position, which involves more sitting. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending quality time with my family.

Prior to discovering Copper State FIT, I struggled with my fitness routine through the pandemic. As a regular gym-goer, I shifted to working out at home and invested in weights and an online membership. Despite putting in significant effort, I wasn’t seeing the results I thought I should with how hard I was working.

As I went at it alone, I grew more and more frustrated and felt a sense of isolation. Without any accountability, except to myself, it became challenging to consistently make the right choices. I found it easier to rationalize my actions, and justify my inaction. Despite trying several approaches, they all felt like experiments that yielded little to no results. Overall, it felt like I was struggling!

What set CSF apart for me was the accountability. Although I consider myself quite disciplined, the thought that someone else would be aware of my progress kept me motivated and on track. The weekly discussions with my coach (Dana) were particularly helpful, as she provided me with an array of practical tips and extensive knowledge on effective exercise and nutrition.

Through CSF, I learned about techniques for relaxing before bedtime, smart snacking options, and the significance of tracking my macros, especially distinguishing between good and bad macros. Taking measurements and progress photos every Sunday allowed me to visually appreciate my progress. Throughout my experience, I felt encouraged and supported, as if I had a team working alongside me.

It was a defining moment when I could visibly see the changes in my body! My physique had become more defined, and I was able to lift heavier weights, confirming that my efforts were paying off!

What surprised me the most, however, was the impact that my nutrition had on my overall well-being and appearance. I used to think that my eating habits were sufficient, but tracking my intake made me realize how vital it is to have a conscious approach to nutrition. This realization was a game-changer for me, and I felt empowered to maintain my newfound healthy habits.

Working with CSF has transformed my life in several ways. I wake up excited to work out every day, and I feel content with my food choices, never feeling like I’m missing out. Even when I indulge occasionally, I’m easily able to return to my healthy routine. I feel fantastic, and my clothes fit me wonderfully. People have commented on my improved appearance and have asked me what I’m doing differently. As a result, I’m looking forward to our beach vacation and feel entirely at ease wearing a swimsuit. It’s liberating not to worry about my appearance constantly and to focus on having fun instead.

Reflecting on my experience with CSF, I can confidently say that three specific things I learned made a significant impact in my success and will continue to guide me in the future:

  1. Meal prepping is crucial to my success and simplifies my life.
  2. Maintaining a positive mindset is essential, and Dana’s ability to reframe negative thoughts was a valuable skill that I will carry with me.
  3. I learned the importance of incorporating fruits and vegetables into my diet and how to enjoy them as snacks and desserts, even though I previously thought that fruit was harmful due to its sugar content.

These three lessons have been instrumental in my success, and I will continue to apply them moving forward.

I feel confident in my own skin now, which is significant! Even though I never looked terrible in a bathing suit, I was always self-conscious. But now, I think I look fantastic, even after having three kids and two grandkids! I can still participate in all the fun activities and running around, and I know how to take care of myself as I get older.

Not only that, my skin and hair look better than ever before! And, one of my sons has decided to try a fitness competition, and I feel like I can contribute to his success. Lastly, my kids recently told me that I should be a model. Haha! I probably won’t do that, but it does feel good to have them say that.

Having an accountability coach really is a game changer! Especially a coach who can help when you get stuck, give good advice, share their own struggles and how they overcame them, listen to frustrations, and ultimately be your cheerleader. I didn’t use the workout portion of the program, but I can see how it could also make a big difference in how fast you get results.

All in all, working with CSF has been a fantastic experience. I was a doubter at first; I didn’t think it would make a difference, but it really did! I’m grateful for all the positive changes this program has brought into my life. If you’re on the fence about it, I would say go for it! It’s a great way to get started on a fitness journey. I felt like I knew a lot, and I learned so much more!
