I’m a 50-year-old, married father of two grown children, who thrives on sports and outdoor adventures. My daily activity resembles that of a greyhound – characterized by bursts of all-out energy, interspersed with ample downtime for recovery.
Before working with CSF, I was consistent about getting to the gym 5 to 6 days a week for functional group fitness classes. However, I found myself falling into the habit of eating without much thought to quantity or quality. This resulted in some unwanted weight gain around my midsection, and my fasting blood sugar climbing up around 110. When my body fat percentage reached a peak of 23%, I knew it was time to start working on my nutrition.
I’d never tried a nutritional program before CSF, and really… I lacked knowledge about the impact of my food choices, or even how to properly structure a nutrition plan. My scale weight was the only metric that I knew to track, other than how I felt. When it started working with CSF, I weighed 187 lbs.

I have learned how to structure my nutrition, with built-in flexibility, to meet my lifestyle. I am always making sure to stay well hydrated, and I build my meals around protein, fruits, vegetables, smart carbs, and healthy fats. This helps me maximize my performance and recovery in the gym, and keep my body fat percentage in check.
It was an eye-opener to learn that I was only consuming about HALF the amount of protein I needed! This one tweak, has had a significant impact on my muscle mass, and lowering my body fat. Fruits and vegetables have been another critical component. They have taken the place of other mindless starches and carbs.
Throughout the six-week challenge, I maintained an adherence score of 100%, resulting in a weight loss of 15 pounds! Over the course of the year, my body fat percentage dropped from 23% to an all-time low of 9.7%. Within the first three months, my weight went from 187 to 165. It’s been a full year, and I’ve managed to add several pounds of lean muscle while maintaining 10 to 12% body fat, and a weight of around 175 pounds!
Without CSF’s support, I wouldn’t have gained the crucial nutrition knowledge I now have. I’d probably still be stuck fluctuating between 180-190 lbs with persistent belly fat, and my blood sugar levels would likely remain unchanged or even worsen.
