I am a stay at home Mom of 4 very active kids, one I homeschool, Most of my time is spent driving one of the 4 to their various activities and supporting them any way I can. I am also a part time musician and music teacher. In my limited free time I enjoy getting outside, hiking, swimming, skiing.
My weight has been up and down for a few years due to 3 surgery’s happening close together. After the first surgery I participated in a challenge with CSF and my local gym. I felt really good about my accomplishments and ended up winning the challenge, then surgery number 2 and 3 set me right back where I had started. I knew the victory of the challenge was short lived and not habit changing so I set up a phone call to chat with Adam a year ago and start my new gradual journey and make new goals, create new life changing habits working towards a healthier me.
I have tried to track macros with other apps and do the fat loss/weight loss on my own. I need accountability to keep me on track, left to my own choices I will always try to get away with eating more and not tracking properly, or make an excuse as to why I should treat myself with this snack or that drink. My good intentions were short lived. I would plan workouts getting to the gym but then eat poorly. Or I would eat really good but not move my body or get workouts in. I was not consistent in all the good things. Then I would give up trying since I was trying to do it on my own and revert back to gaining weight.
Adam is very patient and educational. During my Fat Loss Phase, our family had water damage in our kitchen and for over a month we had limited access to using our kitchen. Adam helped give alternative ideas on how to shop, prepare food, cook and eat out when needed. With his advice and grace, I was able to relax and not stress over all the details and just control what I could control.
Since I won the challenge a few years ago, I knew CSF program was good and worked. I am pretty competitive, and sometimes I need that challenge to meet the next goal. What I missed the first time around was the daily lifestyle changes to gradually change over time. It is not a quick fix win. Also, once I locked in what I was actually eating for my daily calories and not guessing or ignoring some of my small bites or extra ingredients, then the weigh and fat started to come off.
My wardrobe has expanded, I am able to fit into clothes that I have not worn in a while. I have more energy, focus and concentration. I am teaching my kids better nutritional habits. Three things I have learned since being with CSF: 1) Control what you can control. 2) Be gracious with yourself, and 3) reset as often as you need to get back to working toward your goal. Everybody works at their own pace. Prioritizing your health is important.
I am fueling my body with healthier fuel, workouts are still hard but I can lift heavier and do more because my body is getting better nutrition. Last month we did a MURPH Workout; 100 Pull-ups, 200 Push-ups, 300 Squats, 2 mile row. I finished in under 50 minutes and did all 200 push-ups on my toes. I am stronger, I see muscle definition in my arms and legs and I love it.
If I hadn’t worked with CSF, my weight would still be going up and down but staying at my previous heavier weight for the most part. Get your mind set for doing the hard work and then you will see the results. But also remember it is a marathon not a sprint and everyone’s experience is a little bit different so go your own pace and think about what works for you and your family.
