Ingredients

  • 4 oz Lean Ground Chicken, raw 93/7 percent Lean, any brand. You can find one pound packages of lean ground chicken at most major grocery stores. You can also sub ground turkey.
  • 30 ml Franks Red Hot Wings Sauce Buffalo
  • Garlic Powder To taste
  • Ground Black Pepper To taste
  • Celery Salt A little goes a long way. Start out with 1/8 teaspoon then add more if desired.
  • 7 grams Kerrygold Salted Butter
  • 30 grams Bolthouse Farms Blue Cheese Dressing Can be found at most major grocery stores in the refrigerated produce section.
  • 15 grams Romaine Lettuce Whole leaves or bagged chopped.
  • 20 grams Red Onion Sliced
  • 1 Whole Wheat Hamburger Bun Oroweat brand

Instructions

  • NOTES: I like to cook the entire 1 lb package of ground chicken to make 4 burger patties at one time. Great as left overs for individual meals throughout the week or as a family meal. Simply multiply the buffalo sauce, garlic powder and butter times 4 and heat all of the sauce at one time for ease and convenience. Divide accordingly.
  • Spray a cooking pan with avocado oil and preheat on Medium Heat.
  • Open a one pound package of lean ground chicken (93/7) and season the meat with a generous amount of black pepper, some garlic powder and a little celery salt. Divide the meat into 4 oz portions and gently shape them into a patty. The meat will be very sticky so the less you hold it the better so it doesn't stick to your hands.
  • Place the patties into the preheated pan and pour 1/4 cup water into the middle of the pan to allow the patties to steam and retain moisture. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and flip the patties. Cover again and cook for 2 minutes or so. Turn off the heat and keep the patties covered with the lid while you prep the sauce.
  • Add the buffalo wing sauce, a generous shake of garlic powder and butter to a microwave safe cup or small bowl. Heat on high in the microwave for 30 seconds or until the butter melts. Stir with a spoon and set it aside.
  • Place 1/2 of the blue cheese dressing onto the bottom half of the whole wheat bun and top it with one cooked chicken patty. Pour 1/2 of the wing sauce on top then add the red onion and lettuce.
  • Pour the remaining 1/2 of the sauces on the top 1/2 of the bun then add it to the burger and ENJOY! If you would like this less messy, use the reserved 1/2 of the sauces to dip your veggies. Serve with carrots and celery or your favorite veggie. Just remember to log the veggies separately as the nutrition facts are for the chicken burger only.
