I am from Tacoma, Washington. I have lived in Tacoma my whole life. My husband, Kyle, and I have two kids, Avery (19) and Trystan (16). I have been a freelance court reporter for 26 years. I love my job because it allows me the flexibility to enjoy a work-life balance. I enjoy working out, spending time with my family, spending time in fellowship with my church family, playing the piano, and line dancing.

I have always tried to eat healthy and stay in shape, but after I turned 45 I have struggled just to maintain my weight. In the last four years I have been working out consistently three to four times a week, and I always try to watch what I eat, but I was unable to keep the weight from creeping on. No matter how much I worked out, I was unable to notice a change in my appearance or on the scale.

I used My Fitness Pal for a while, which sometimes helped me to maintain, but there weren’t any appreciable results in appearance. I would get really frustrated with myself and feel like quitting because I wasn’t seeing any results from the effort I was putting in.

CSF taught me how to look at what I was eating, by understanding the calories coming in, learning to eat more protein, and with a greater emphasis on fruits and vegetables. I was also incorporating much more weight training than I had in the past.

I have had wonderful results with CSF! I immediately started losing weight consistently. Even though it was only a half a pound to a pound and a half a week, I finally started noticing a difference on the scale, and eventually I started noticing a difference in my appearance as well. It was a huge motivator for me to continue logging my meals, eating fruits and vegetables, and getting to the gym!

Now, I have a lot more self-confidence. I feel like I have more energy than I have ever had. In the past, I have had issues with insomnia, and I feel it has helped with that as well. I still don’t get a full night’s sleep every night, but I have definitely seen improvement!

I’m down 27lbs, 18 inches and 11% body fat in just 6-months with CSF!

Three things I feel made the biggest impact for me were:

  1. Planning meals has played a huge role in being able to stay on track with my goals. I know that when I didn’t have a plan before, I would reach for something easy, which usually ended up being something that wasn’t the best option.
  2. I also noticed that weight training made a huge difference for me!  In the past, I would stick to the dumbbell weights because I was intimidated by the barbell, but it definitely made a difference in my muscle tone.
  3. Tracking my food really helped me to stay accountable. Once I started watching my calorie intake and paying attention to how much protein I was getting per day, it seemed to really make a difference.

I am very competitive, so I loved the CSF app! It was very rare during my six months doing the program when I did not make my daily goals. I found that it helps me to create goals along the way so that I can appreciate my progress. Being prepared is the key to my follow through!

I feel that I would be in the same place I was six months ago without CSF; frustrated because I felt like I was working out and trying to watch what I ate, but I never saw any results, and I was close to giving up working out.

If you commit to the process, you will see results. The coaches are so helpful when you have questions. Have confidence in yourself that you can stick with it. Take the leap to become the person you want to be!
